No two trips are the same. We don’t have a set destination or typical route that we sail repeatedly. S/V Freedom wants to go where the winds and currents allow us to optimize sailing and run the motor as little as possible. The great thing about the Hampton Roads area is there is always plenty to see.
On a typical cruise you could see work being done on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel; any number of vessels ranging from Naval aircraft carriers to kayaks; birds like eagles, osprey, pelicans, gulls, ducks, and terns. Depending on the time of day and year, you will see all sorts of shore and sea birds, dolphins, or porpoises, all while experiencing the Hampton Roads Area from a viewpoint many never experience – from the water looking landward. Not into sightseeing? You can always relax and enjoy the sail.
